The sport of skiing/snowboarding and snow sliding has inherent risks. The CSP and Western Zone do not insure Patrollers for loss of income in the event of injury. We strongly recommend Patrollers acquire their own income protection insurance.

All Patrollers in Ontario Division are covered by Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance coverage. The policy does not provide coverage for Patrollers over the age of 69.

As a condition of membership the Patroller releases the Canadian Ski Patrol (CSP), Western Zone, their officers and agents from any and all claims for negligence, arising from the Patrollers participation in Ski Patrol activities.

No Patroller by virtue of their membership, is authorized to incur any obligation or create any liability on behalf of the Canadian Ski Patrol (CSP) and Western Zone.

After successful completion of the first aid course, new Patrollers may only patrol at their assigned areas until they have successfully completed a compulsory toboggan handling and ski evaluation test.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age as of the registration deadline for the current year.

As a member you agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the Canadian Ski Patrol (CSP) and the by-laws of Western Zone.

You will be required to patrol at your assigned area according to the regulations of that area, unless the Zone requires you to patrol at other areas within Western Zone.

We cannot promise you will be assigned to patrol at you "first choice" ski area. Your area selections are subject to approval of the Zone President and area Patrol Leader each season.

Canadian Ski Patrol (CSP) requirements state that a first aid kit, and CSP jacket with insignia, must be worn by a Patroller at all times while on duty or as outlined in the National uniform policy. You will be supplied with a CSP jacket/vest with the option to buy or lease based on a fee equal to the value of the garment. Leased jackets remain the property of the Canadian Ski Patrol - Western Zone and must be returned should you leave or transfer from Western Zone. The blue and yellow jacket/shell/vest with a yellow cross on the stylized blue maple leaf (Legacy uniform) and the red jacket/vest with a white cross on the back and white crosses on both upper arms (National uniform) are registered trademarks of the Canadian Ski Patrol.

Requests for refunds of application fees must be in writing and addressed to the Zone Office. Refunds will be made at the sole discretion of the Zone Executive and will be issued within ten (10) business days. Refunds may also be subject to a $25.00 administration fee. Failing to pass examinations or missing any of the requirements shall not be considered a reason for a request for a refund. Any cost (s) related to course materials are also non-refundable.

Any N.S.F. cheque received by the Canadian Ski Patrol (CSP) will require prompt repayment of the original fee plus a service charge of $25.00. Repayment must be in the form of a certified cheque, C.O.D., money order or credit card. Failure to take prompt action to reconcile a returned cheque will result in a freeze of your CSPS membership, and eventually your membership will be revoked.

MAKE CHEQUE PAYABLE TO: THE CANADIAN SKI PATROL. Applications received with a post-dated cheque will not be processed until the date of the cheque.
